The PGT provides gardeners with the opportunity to acquire skills and gain qualifications through part-time courses and work placements. This enhances their careers and benefits the horticulture profession as a whole. The Professional Gardeners' Trust helps fund gardeners study for horticultural courses and modules e.g. RHS courses. It can also help with training in other areas like Social and Therapeutic horticulture, specialist certificates, management skills.

It helps gardeners gain certificates in practical horticulture and use of horticultural equipment. It is able to support gardeners to gain experience through work placements in other gardens. Our awards are available for all working gardeners: there is no age discrimination, nor restriction by qualification or membership to a particular organization.

It is easy to apply to the Professional Gardeners' Trust and we respond within a few weeks of application. Please contact us to find out what we can do for you. The Trust is totally independent and funded by donations from horticultural trusts and organisations, private individuals and subscription contributions from Professional Gardeners' Guild members.
Services
The Professional Gardeners' Trust was set up by professional gardeners to encourage the raising of professional standards through further education and practical experience.
We are always keen to hear from potential new trustees.
If you are interested in joining us, please send a CV and cover letter outlining how you might contribute to our success to chair.pgtrust@gmail.com.
It is critical to provide funding opportunities for training, both to encourage those entering the profession and to raise the skill levels of existing gardeners to meet the increasingly diverse range of demands made upon them.
When considering applying for an award remember to apply at least six weeks before the course begins!

The PGT is not a membership organisation.
It is an independent charity providing grants to professional gardeners for training and continuing professional development in the sector of gardening and horticulture.
The work of our Trust would not be possible without the enormous generosity of a great number of benefactors, both private individuals and charitable organisations.
The development of the Trust's scope has been largely due to the generous response to its ongoing appeal and to the support of our appeal patrons.
