Eden Garden Design aims to improve your surroundings - to enable you to enjoy your garden and make the best use of its space. Whatever the size of your garden it should enhance your quality of life, and provide a place to unwind after that busy day. When you step outside it should be a pleasure - a place you do not want to leave, where there is always something to see, smell and touch.
This can be done by creating a balance between the house and garden, by changing shapes and making focal points, which draw the eye and entice you to explore or relax. A design which transforms an area of land into a garden is so exciting! It is difficult to do for oneself, because we all form mental blocks about what cannot be changed or removed - for a variety of reasons.
A fresh approach can usually bring about surprising alterations, opening up new ways of using the space available. Together we will achieve a garden which is ideally suited to your specific needs. Every garden is different, so I will be happy to come and discuss in detail your own wishes and hopes.

I have always been fascinated by nature and the beauty which is all around us in the birds, animals, insects, plants and sky.
My interest in plants and flowers grew during twenty years in Kenya, where I took up botanical watercolour painting.
On my return to England in 1989, when we acquired our own property, gardening became my main interest, followed by garden design.
After completing a correspondence course with the Institute of Garden Design in Bristol, I then took a City and Guilds course in garden design at the Abingdon and Witney College near Oxford.

However small or large the garden it should enhance your quality of life.
This can be achieved by creating a balance between the house and garden, and by making focal points, which draw the eye and entice you into the garden to explore or relax.
The first thing to do is to contact me, either by phone or by email.
I will arrange to come for a first visit, which may take up to two hours as this is when we will discuss your needs and hopes, and look at the garden together.

Eden Garden Design created a courtyard garden for us.
Helen designed it to be on three levels because it had been a slope before (a corrugated cow byre actually!)
We get enormous pleasure from it.
We only had a vague idea of what we wanted and Helen translated our thoughts into something tangible and brought our dreams to life.
She advised about what flowers and trees to plant and where to put them.
We have a mixture of raised and ground level beds and they look lovely.
Thank you so much!
The meticulously thorough designs by Eden Garden Design have completely transformed our garden from an area that we didn't even want to spend time in to an area in which we spend as much time as possible.
