I have over 30 years practical experience of fencing, hard landscaping, ground works, small building and maintenance projects. Mark Brooks Fencing was established in 1993 after a number of years subcontracting to other fencing companies. This work has taken in most types of fence and gate installation from simple post repairs to steel palisade security installations.

Hard landscaping and Ground work experience covers turfing, patios, slab laying, block paving, decking and pergola construction. I believe a flexible approach to work is very important and I enjoy the variation however please do not assume that I will be willing to operate in an unsafe manner or follow unsound or illegal practice. I will not be able to carry out electrical or plumbing works or other similar services where a qualified person is required.

I cannot work on roofs, remove asbestos or carry out deep sea diving projects. I have undertaken a range of Fencing and Landscaping works for a significant number of domestic customers, these include repeat contracts for Wilstead, Elstow, Lidlington and Renhold Parish Councils: Wilstead Lower School, Kingsmoor Lower School (Flitwick), Holywell School (Cranfield): And building companies including M J Hillson Group, Llewellyn Construction and others.
Services
Any timber fencing, panels, picket, closeboard etc, is always subject to the elements.
Any timber fence post installed into the ground is always likely to rot and break at some point in time.
Regular fencing maintenance can help prolong the life of your garden fence and is worth the modest investment of time and material.
Not only will the fence look better, maintaining an aesthetic appeal but the timber will survive longer.
Broken timber fence posts: More information on Fencing maintenance can be found here.
Traditional UK fencing panels come in various designs and heights but all UK made and supplied fence panels are traditionally 6' long.
It is rare to find fencing panels longer than this but I have come across a local manufacturer who once made panels 6'6' long.
It caught me out once when I counted panels rather than measured the fence!
These are made 180cm long.
In layman's terms this makes them about an inch short of 6'.
This is relevant if you decide to retro fit European made fence panels in to previously installed UK fence panel spaces.
This type of fence is generally considered to be the strongest fence for most domestic applications and also works well for commercial application as well.
Traditional Closeboard is built up from individual components and is clad with feather edged boards.
There are a number of different options for this type of fence from a choice of materials, the type of post and then you can choose the type of rail and gravelboard but in all cases the cladding is feather edge boards.
Closeboard can be installed on timber, concrete or steel posts.
Timber pedestrian gates, side gates or driveway gates, whatever you need we can supply and install them.
In some cases an off the shelf gate will fit, these gates are usually 90cm wide by 175cm high however some types are made to different sizing to match a particular panel type.
If you are unable to obtain standard sizing or require a different style of gate, maybe something with an arched top for example that is more bespoke please ask us.
There are a few examples of gates and fitting below and they come in many shapes and sizes, this is just a few of them.
Trellis panels can add an additional feature to the top of fences, can be fitted to walls or fencing or can be the 'fence'.
Added to the top of fence panels they can add a decorative feature and improve security by adding more height.
Trellis can also help achieve full height on a fence allowing light in or the ability to see out and chat with your neighbours.
Trellis comes in various shapes and sizes but are based on standard dimensions.
Trellis can be obtained in square section or diamond section with the both types available with standard or 'privacy' squares - basically more wood so smaller holes!
