Based in the coastal town of Charmouth on the Dorset/Devon border, I offer a creative and professional garden design service and landscape consultancy for the South West of England and beyond. Creating contemporary, sustainable spaces for all sorts of people in all kinds of places, from small town courtyards to large country gardens and commercial developments.

See some examples of garden designs. Horticulture knowledge and a sculptor's understanding of space and materials come together in designs that match your requirements and preferences and respect the ecology of your site. Please phone or email me to see how I can help you make the most of your outside space. Or call into my garden design studio in Charmouth for a no-obligation discussion of your requirements.
Services
Based in the coastal town of Charmouth, I design contemporary, creative and sustainable outdoor spaces, in response to your needs and preferences, and in tune with the wider environment.
As a designer I am particularly interested in sensitivity to site and through informed planting and sustainable materials I aim to encourage thriving ecosystems within your garden and to reduce the need for irrigation and chemicals.
My training began in Fine Art.
I gained a first class degree in Sculpture in 1991 and worked in education whilst studying for an RHS Certificate in Horticulture and an intensive course of training in Garden Design with John Brookes MBE and Nigel Fuller MSGD.
The large garden surrounding this modern family home was designed to anchor the house in a difficult sloping site, and make better use of the space whilst at the same time making this an easily maintained garden area.
A generous level terrace was created beyond the new extension, cutting across the slope to provide a large sunny space for outside entertaining.
The directional line of the terrace encourages you to explore the wider garden, with its naturalistic planting, play spaces and additional seating areas.
This meeting is to establish your practical requirements, your style preferences and your budget.
It is when I discover exactly what you want and how I can best help you to achieve it.
Any planning issues can be discussed and I make an preliminary assessment of your existing plot, its relationship to your property and the surrounding area.
Following my visit, I send you a written report outlining my understanding of your requirements and preferences and my fee proposal for the design work.
Stand-alone consultation visits are also offered to discuss a particular area or a problem you might have within your plot.
