Services
Southwell Garden Centre was taken over in 2000 by Dan O'Neill and Paul Hellaby, the current owners, and remains a dedicated family business with gardening and customer service at its heart.
Many of the traditional values that the business was built on are just as important to us today: Dan, Paul and the rest of our Southwell Garden Centre family work hard to provide the highest quality plants and goods, expert advice, excellent value, an extensive range and the best service around.
Dan trained at the horticultural college in Pershore where he met his wife Rachel, a fellow horticulturalist, prior to taking over Southwell Garden Centre with brother-in-law Paul.
We try to look after the indoors just as much as the outdoors at Southwell Garden Centre, and we offer a fabulous array of homeware, gifts, kitchenware, house plants and the like.
Our indoor plants vary throughout the year, but are likely to include begonias, cyclamen, orchids, primroses and azaleas amongst others.
You will find an extensive and ever-changing selection of gifts, confectionary, soft toys, frames, candles, stationary, games, books, crockery, textiles, glassware, ceramics, music, films and collectables.
Plants are our life!
Southwell Garden Centre is home to a comprehensive range of quality plants in all shapes & sizes.
From the smallest alpine to the tallest conifer, from bedding plants to fruit trees, from herbs to herbaceous perennials, we have it covered.
If you are designing a garden, planning a border or simply want to refresh and fill a few gaps come and talk to us; we'll happily guide you around our displays and stock.
You can choose from flowering shrubs, trees, conifers, herbaceous perennials, clematis & climbers, ferns & grasses, annual bedding plants, rhododendrons, azaleas & roses.
Dan O' Neill, co-owner at Southwell Garden Centre and our resident horticultural expert, offers his seasonal advice to get the most out of your garden.
We like to share our best tips and suggestions on Facebook & Twitter so be sure to connect with us there too.
The month of August & the garden is in full bloom, well certainly many of the herbaceous plants are now at the peak of their flowering, & the summer bedding is still full of great vibrancy, but what of the months ahead, will the garden still show its full potential through the autumn & even further into the spring?
The garden centre just wouldn't be the same without our tea room.
From light lunches to home-cooked dinners; from coffee and cake to tea and scones; from sandwiches to Sunday roasts; we cater for everyone.
Quiet and tranquil, the tea room is the perfect spot to enjoy some delicious home cooking and a cup of tea or coffee.
With comfortable seating both indoors and out, and a different deal every day of the week, we pride ourselves on our homely atmosphere and excellent value.
So whether you come in especially to eat, or just fancy a Fairtrade coffee whilst browsing in the garden centre, we know you'll come again.
