More than ever, your garden is an extension of your home. It's a place that can uplift and refresh you, even on a day that's too wet or cold to venture out. You want to look out your window and see beauty, colour and perhaps even wildlife you had never before realised was so close to home. You can have the 'Wow Factor' but still have a practical space for entertaining and all the other needs.
The ideal garden is one that reflects who you are and the way you live. It should complement the style of your house, make the most of any significant features you already have and provide year-round interest. Barry is a fully registered Member of the Society of Garden Designers, and brings his extensive experience and a fresh perspective to your space.
Whether you have a million ideas - or absolutely no idea where to start - the vision of your perfect garden is waiting to be realised. Also an RHS award-winning garden designer, Barry says, Garden design has certain principles but none of them always apply.

Services
Every project starts with an Inital Consultation, an approximately 45-minute visit I'll pay to you at your property.
During my visit, we'll look at the space together, considering its shape, position, levels, strengths and challenges.
We'll consider your access arrangements, too, and of course I'll want to hear your thoughts and hopes for your new garden.
If possible, I will make immediate suggestions which may be about the design style or perhaps more practical points or about plants and horticulture.

You may well have some ideas, a few saved pictures etc. or perhaps no idea at all about what you want your garden to be.
Either way you are probably apprehensive about turning over your private space to someone with their own ideas even though you probably also realise it could a great journey.
You need someone you can trust who is building a vision for you, to suit you, with imagination but a suitable dose of common sense.
We'll work together to create your vision, first using scaled drawings and eventually, after the details are clear, in situ.

The end result was stunning - a stylish family garden which is now an extension of our home and a year down the line looks surprisingly mature.
Very happy customers!
He gave us excellent advice on the planting up all the flowers and shrubs and supervised the planting.
We are delighted with the finished garden and are fortunate to have Barry involved in its expansion and development.

When I first went to do a Show Garden, I was thinking what you may be thinking now: it's not a real garden.
It's a show piece.
A display.
Sometimes, that's exactly what it is; some of my favourite Show Gardens were pure fantasy.
A show is the only place you are likely to find such things!
Increasingly, though, Show Gardens are being made in just the same way as a genuine project.
Plants that have been forced or are completely out of season are very much de-rigueur and the judges are interested in the potential longevity of the Show Garden they are looking at.
