David Bishop Garden Design service is based in Warrington in Cheshire. I provide a complete garden design and construction service across the North West of England. I specialise in working on domestic properties, especially new build houses which often have challenging ground conditions. Having a plan drawn may not be necessary for simple projects but I always encourage client involvement in the garden design process.
As well as new designs, I will also carry out restoration of existing gardens to help to bring them back to their former glories. I specialise in low maintenance and low cost gardens and encourage the use of recycled materials, enhancing nature and wildlife and enabling you to grow your own fruit and vegetables in your garden. I am David Bishop and I have been interested in gardens and growing plants since early childhood.
On finishing school I went on to study horticulture at the University of Bath, graduating in 1988.
There I specialised in amenity land management and the reclamation of industrial wasteland.
I still draw on this experience when designing gardens for new-build houses with difficult ground conditions.
During the late 1980's and 1990's, I worked for the Groundwork Trust, firstly in St Helens and then in Salford/Trafford.

David has created a lovely garden despite it being the worst he has ever had to work on. The whole garden is full of stones, rubble, house bricks and boulders. The ground is so badly compacted it was extremely difficult for him to dig. Despite the difficulties he has created beautiful borders. I am delighted with the garden and would not hesitate to recommend him.
